Diversity, Equality & Inclusion

Understanding diversity, individual difference, and why it matters in the workplace
The effects of stereotypes, prejudice and discrimination on employees and their performance

Diversity, Equality and Inclusion

Diversity, Equality and Inclusion is a broad field. My interest and offerings in this area started with Gender Diversity: a personal passion and a current hot topic.

Did you know that 23% of Gen Z use they/them pronouns (in the UK)*?

Gen Z will account for 30% of our Global workforce by 2030*, so it’s an important thing to understand.

We specialise in Gender Diversity, and also offer talks and workshops in a number of related topics – including Sexuality and Relationship Orientation, as well as how they intersect with Age, Neurodiversity, Race, Culture and Religion.

Gender Diversity

The world is always changing. Navigating complex societal issues – like religion and race, sexuality and gender – can seem complicated. As a society, our collective viewpoint shifts over time. At View from a Dove we keep things simple, ‘to the point’ and workplace appropriate. With our aim to get people back to working well together, even if they have differences of opinion and belief.

With talks from 45 minutes in duration, and workshops from 2 hours, we also offer a simple online Gender Revelation course that can be taken any time, anywhere. With tricky topics, it’s important to tailor the approach to the organization in order to ensure the desired results are obtained.

Sexuality and Relationships

Gender and sexuality are completely different things – with 1 in 25 in the UK ‘Gender Divergent’, and 1 in 5 not (exclusively) Heterosexual.  And, perhaps surprisingly, 1 in 10 ethically non-Monogamous (i.e. interested in more than just one 1:1 relationship).  These vary by age group, geographical location, and a number of other variables…

Understanding difference, and actively supporting minority employees who diverge ‘from the norm’, is vital to ensuring an inclusive environment.  When people feel included, they feel valued and less stressed, and are more likely to go ‘above and beyond’ at work.  When they don’t, they are likely to leave.

Intersectionality

Looking at the origins of Intersectionality as a discipline, we then use Gender Diversity as a base, and look at how it intersects with Age, Neurodiversity and Ethnicity, Culture and Religion.  Looking at statistics and prevalence, we explore privilege and oppression and how they differ around the world.

We explore pathology versus diversity paradigms, and studies investigating predictors of tolerance and intolerance between different groups.  We consider the difference between useful generalisations and harmful stereotypes, unconscious bias and prejudice, personal beliefs and discrimination.   All aimed at finding ways to balance opposing views in the workplace, and harness the many benefits of having a diverse workforce.

Talks, workshops and more

We focus on what’s best for you and your organisation. From bite-size talks and pre-recorded courses, to full day workshops, team training and whole organisation rollouts.

At View from a Dove we have the flexibility to engage and deliver in the right way to make a meaningful difference. To you.

What’s right for you and your team?

Your session was THE best on this topic that I have seen, and has moved my understanding on in a step change quantum.
Che created a safe and welcoming space where everyone felt comfortable expressing themselves and asking questions.
I have been working in the field of EDI for getting on for 27 years and that was one of the best sessions I’ve ever been to.
Just a massive thank you! This is wonderful. I have a very feminine father who has often been discriminated against in the workplace for 'not fitting the norm'.
Your work is ground-breaking for our sector. I wish you every success and will be recommending you to several organisations over the coming weeks.
I feel far better equipped now to have conversations with people on this topic. Thank you, Che!
